A U.K. Team Is Now Working On A Modular Smartwatch, Inspired by Google

Inspired by Google’s Block-by-block approach, a team from UK started to working on a Modular Watch. But concept of the open hardware platform with the modularity is starting to inspire lots of people to work on new kind of technology name Wearable’s. The modular Smartwatch called Blocks, which intended to provide a full custom wearable watch, letting user to choose which sensor they want to sense their wrist, it could be simple fitness band or a fully featured Smartwatch. The main idea is to give user to full spec out of a wearable to suit their particular needs. These special devices are capable of monitoring health, activity or notification from your Android phone. These devices are modular; mean you can personalize the hardware design by yourself. You can choose what feature you want in your daily driver.

TechCrunchReportedThe technical challenges of delivering a workable modular wearable may also be less substantial than making an entirely modular Smartphone — albeit, all that remains to be seen. Still, on the concept level alone, making an adaptive type of device to fit an adaptive category feels fitting. Of course, in reality, asking people to spec out their own devices already requires them to be a little more device savvy than the average — and the freedom of choice supported by modularity inevitably introduces a degree of complexity that won’t appeal to everyone, which may end up being the biggest challenge for any of these modular devices capturing the imagination of the mainstream.

These Watches will be compatible with any Android phone, having latest OS, it was founded in November 2013—right after Motorola fired the Project Ara, which now owned by Google. So the current aim is to fix the design issue with the device and make it more comfortable and make it classier. This product will be scheduled to launch in mid 2015, with developer edition ready before that.
